Activity 1

Senior Infants (Miss Maguire's Room)
Strand: Living Things
Strand units: Myself/ Human Life/ Plants and Animals
Design and Make
Senior infants learned all about Antarctica and built igloos as part of their work. They built igloos in groups using sugar cubes and pva glue. It was very important that the igloo stayed standing and didn't fall over.

5th and 6th Class (Ms. Gilheaney's Class)
Strand: Forces
Strand Unit: Force
Design and Make: Rotating Ferris Wheels

5th and 6th have been taking part in STEM projects in the classroom in November. These examples below are very impressive I'm sure you'll agree!





Activity 3:
Engineering- Scribble Bots
Classes: 4th, 5th and 6th from our school and the Hunt N.S.- Shared Education Day
Design and Make
Strands and Strand Units; The following activity takes in many strands and areas of the curriculum from Construction in Art to Design and Make and Forces in Science. This is the kind of activity that we all learned so much from this year- pupils and teachers alike! We had a Scribble Bot workshop and the pupils did an amazing job. Check it out below!









Activity 4
Engineering Week Event 
We did our event after Engineering Week. We were very lucky as we had to walk around the corner to the canal where we were met by four staff from Waterways Ireland. It was very interesting and we learned loots about the canal, rivers and locks on our doorstep! 








Activity 5
Class- 4th and 5th 
Strand: Forces
Strand unit: Force
Integration with Geography theme of weather and climate
Design and Make- the pupils designed and made a working anemometer.






Activity 6
Strand: Materials
Strand Unit: Properties and characteristics of materials
Class: First
The children were learning about materials through the story of  the Three Little Pigs.
They had to construct three stable houses from different materials in groups.
