Maths

Activity 1
Class: Junior Classes
Strand: Living Things
Strand Unit: Plants and Animals
We had a visit from Magic at the beginning of April from Dogs' Trust. We learned about how Magic was born into a large litter and came to live with Paul. The three E's are very important - owners need to have Enough time, Enough space and Enough money.Dogs need a lot of care and attention and we learned all about this. Having and caring for a pet is great but a huge responsibility! It was lovely meeting Magic.
Here is some maths work carried our by 2nd class about the Dogs' Trust visit.

Activity 2: Lava Lamps
Strand: Materials
Strand Unit: Properties and characteristics of materials
Classes: First Class

During Science week the children in First class did lots of experiments which involved Properties and Characteristics of Materials and Materials and change this week. When they were finished their work they also took part in related Maths activities. Have a look at our pictures below!

Activity 3: Khan Academy
Classes: First, 4th and part of 5th
Strand: Maths
Strand unit: All
At the end of the last term we decided to begin Khan Academy on our iPads. The teacher gives out assignments related to the topic we are doing in school. The pupils have their unique password which they enter and complete their assignments. It is a fun way to improve Maths. There are videos to watch and we practice our skills and log them under our name. Don't forget children, you can log on at home and complete tasks too!

(Apologies for poor quality of pictures- we had problems uploading!)
